There’s never a shortage of fun, family-friendly events in Snowmass, especially in the winter. This December, the schedule is packed and as the new Base Village opens this month, it’s a great time to visit. Here’s a few of our favorite events to check out while you’re visiting Snowmass Village:
Base Village Grand Opening Celebration – December 14th – 16th
The new Base Village Grand Opening is the first of many major events for Snowmass this winter. There will be tons of great activities for the entire family, young or old. Satisfy your wintery s’mores and cocoa craving ater skiing and head over to the live music in the Base Village plaza.
There will also be a photo booth to capture the great memories, a pop-up holiday market with great local retailers, a ribbon cutting ceremony, rock climbing competition, ice skating, fireworks and of course, lots of fantastic food.
HI-FI Concert Series – December 15th
During the Base Village Grand Opening, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe will perform right in the center plaza. Their music is the perfect mix of rock and blues to entertain all ages. The show begins at 3:00 pm and goes until 5:00 pm. Afterward, there will be dance music from DJ Naka G at the new Snowmass Collective.
Santa’s Village & Carolers – December 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th
Just before Christmas, the North Pole will come to Snowmass and Santa will join us to hear some last-minute requests from boys and girls. Complimentary photos with Santa will be available and the carolers will stroll through the Snowmass Mall and Base Village singing your favorite holiday tunes.
Moonlit Trek & Dinner -December 22nd, January 19th, February 16th, March 16th
If you’re in the mood for an evening stroll, the Moonlit Trek is perfect to work up an appetite before eating at Black Saddle Bar & Grille. You’ll be taken on a nice 1.2-mile snowshoe trek during sunset and treated with s’mores, cocoa and an amazing dinner.
New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks – December 31st
The Snowmass Torchlight Parade is an annual experience you won’t forget. Children 8 and up are invited to join the downhill parade ending at Fanny Hill. The parade will begin at 6:00 pm and later in the evening the mountain will be lit up by breathtaking fireworks at 10:00 pm.
